Balearic Islands - yacht charter, tourist guide, descriptions, routes, photos

Yacht charter Balearic Islands Balearic Islands Thanks to their natural diversity, the Balearic Islands are unique and unearthly beautiful. What makes them so exceptional are a wonderful climate, idyllic cays, beautiful beaches, bustling marinas and towns, picturesque coasts, mountainous landscapes, and a whole mixture of various cultures: Spanish, Italian, French, and Turkish.

Here you can check the yacht charter offers in the country: Balearic Islands »

Being the most western archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, the Balearic Islands consist of four main islands: Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, and many smaller ones. The archipelago forms one of the seventeen autonomous communities and a province of Spain with the capital in Palma de Mallorca. It obtained the Statute of Autonomy in 1983.

The archipelago consists of the islands which are perfect for culture, art and wildlife enthusiasts, as well as fun lovers. On Majorca, we will find works of Antonio Gaudi and Joan Miro, and also discover traces after Frédéric Chopin’s and Robert Graves’s stays in Valdemossa and Deja, respectively. We will also have a chance to visit holiday resorts in the southern part of the island. Minorca, in turn, is an island full of legends and megalithic relics. We will visit a medieval town of Ciutadella de Manorca and Mao, the island’s capital. Ibiza, called the “Island of Peace and Love”, is known for its nightlife attractions, numerous discos and clubs. In the National Park of Cabrera, an islet off the south coast of Majorca, we will have a chance to see sea turtles, dolphins, and a coral reef. And all of this in the hot Mediterranean climate alleviated by the sea-breeze.

The climate in the Balearic Islands is one of their main assets. The mild and warm Mediterranean climate makes the sailing season last from April to October. In summer temperatures usually exceed 30 °C, while in winter they rarely drop below 5 °C. Summer is exceptionally hot and rainless, while wintertime abounds in rainfall, which brings a salutary effect both for the island’s inhabitants and its flora, which then revives after the summer drought.
A perfectly prepared yacht and catamaran fleet and state-of-the-art service centres in marinas will surely make time spent under the sails more fun.
