Scotland is situated in the north of Great Britain and includes such archipelagos as the Hebrides, the Shetland Islands, and the Orkney Islands. It borders on England in the south. Uplands and mountains which prevail in the Scotland’s landscape make it an unusually attractive tourist destination. Considering also Scotland’s favourable weather conditions – a moderately warm and extremely maritime climate, it can be said that tourism is expanding very rapidly here.
 
In the northwest of Scotland, the two areas: Wester Ross and Sutherland, along with the island of Skye, make up a region called the Highlands, whereas in the south the county of Ayrshire with the Isle of Arran, the sheltered Firth of Clyde, the Kintyre, Argyll, Cowal Peninsulas, and Bute, Islay, Jura and Mull islands form the region known as the Lowlands. In addition, from all sides Scotland is surrounded by many other archipelagos, including the Outer Hebrides in the north-west, the Orkley Islands in the north, or the Shetlands in the north-east.

Regardless of the route taken, sailors will have a chance to admire amazing views and feel like first settlers colonising the island. The Scottish landscape formed of mountains, hilltops, and coves takes on a magical appearance when seen from the sea. Small population density on land and the almost bare sea mean that there are no laws and no bans, not to mention congested ports or polluted environment.
